Jeffrey came to us in the spring of 2011 along with his 3 brothers and sister, born to a stray and fathered by a true feral cat we called Geoffrey, so called because of his standoffish way. The mother cat abandoned Jeff and his siblings at an empty house located across the street from us and I knew we had to rescue them else they would come to harm.
When they were old enough we had them all fixed so that they would not contribute to the stray cat problem. We were able to find homes for two of them and ended up keeping the other 3. The other two are black cats, Stubby, so named because the tip of his tail was cut off in an accident as a kitten, and Panther. Jeffrey was a gray and white cat with a small gray heart shaped nose.
Jeffrey was more like a dog than a cat. He loved people, whether family members or friends that came to the house. He and his brothers ruled the woods located around our home but all three would come running home at the sound of a bell hung on our back porch.
He wanted to be an inside cat but unfortunately a member of our household has severe cat dander allergies so it was not to be. He was especially close to our granddaughter Haley. She loved when he would like her toes and nibble on them.
He lived with us for 10 years, giving love unconditionally and was never a bad boy.
Until we meet again Jeffrey
Much love,
Denise and Tim Graber
